I’ve just returned from a walk around the block and while on the walk I decided to finally create a blog (after many months of hesitation) where I can record recipes I’ve made and create a little portfolio of the food on my table.


This last fortnight, since returning from Norway and still awaiting my start date for work, I’ve set out to plan a week of home cooked meals for Callum and his mum. The goal was to plan a weeks worth of meals and do one shop. I have a problem of going to the shops most days to buy ingredients for dinners and I want to be better at this.


Weekly Menu:


  • Lemony Greek Chicken, Spinach & Potato Stew

  • Crispy Wonton Chicken Salad

  • Chickpea + Spinach & Feta Filo Pie

  • Gnocchi w/ Hot + Sweet Peppers

  • Orzotto Alla Carbonara


Inspo for this menu was from the NYT Cooking app and they were recipes that I wasn’t sure everyone in the house would enjoy but they were all eaten and plates scraped clean.


Another goal for the week was to create a sourdough starter from scratch. As it’s been cold here in the North of England the past week I’ve been keeping it warm above the radiators and wrapping it up with a hot water bottle at night to keep it warm. After a week of not much action I woke up this morning to my baby bubbling away.

I did manage to avoid the shops for any dinner ingredients so I was successful in my weeks goal.
